We always ate dinner from trays balanced on our knees, because we never had a dining area and the kitchen always seemed a bit dark and cold. This was somewhat of a pain and never practical or at ease, obviously. We would all be glued to the TV and not seemed to talk greatly while we ate.
We had been thrilled to have a second room downstairs, which, of course, became our long-awaited dining area. That transpired when we moved house. Dining tables are a must as now we could eat properly at a table, just like a normal, civilised family; which appeared wonderful, It meant we could also invite friends round for meals and that we were all very excited about the change it might make to our lives.
Now we just needed to locate some oak furniture to complement our other furniture in the house. Mom insisted everything should match as it would look more consistent and stylish. I suggested looking on the web as you always seem get the best deals.
